Jarhead Charters: A Veteran’s Mission to Deliver the Best Fishing in the Riviera Maya
What do you get when you mix a Marine, a private eye, and a love for fishing? You get Jarhead Charters — a no-BS, veteran-built charter brand that’s all about great boats, honest crews, and memorable fishing in the Riviera Maya.
We are a small coaltion of owners with Top Shelf Boats. Wasabi Loco. We fish out of Puerto Aventuras Marina, just south of Playa del Carmen.
From the Military to Marlin
I am a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran with two tours in Vietnam before coming back to civilian life. After that, I built and ran a successful private investigative agency in Texas. It was fast-paced, detailed work — and it taught me a lot about trust and accountability.
Eventually, I decided to combine my love of the ocean with those same principles. That’s when Jarhead Charters was born. No middlemen. No games. Just straight-up fishing with people who care about doing it right.
